Summer. So many things come to mind when you hear this word: No school, heat, swimming, naps, family vacations, the lake, and so much more. When the word summer starts getting used here at Tulakogee it means that one of the busiest times is coming and we need to get prepared. Well, this summer was no different. The activity classes were prepared, the cabins were cleaned, grass mowed, and pool opened at the end of May. Then the fun began! Campers began to arrive in a steady stream that didn’t let up! It was exciting to see the faces of the first timers when they came to the first group assembly, and the eagerness to get going and be a part of things was easily read in their facial expressions. The returning campers were right there alongside them telling them all about the fun they would experience. Fun was had by all! But, the most exciting part came when a child made a decision for the Lord to change their lives for eternity! Overall we had 227+ decisions recorded, but those are only the ones that were recorded! How many more children went home with a changed heart we will only know in eternity, but seeds were planted this summer at Kids Mission Adventure Kamp (KAMK)! What an exciting time to be a part of! Here are a few pictures from this past summer for you to enjoy and get to help you get excited about next summer!
There were so many testimonies that we have heard this summer that it is hard to only pick a few to write about, but I will try. One of the summer staffs favorite testimonies from this summer takes place in two parts. There was a ladies group earlier this spring who were the first to use one of our new conference rooms at the new Adult Conference Center (ACC). One of the ladies who was a part of that group decided to give her life to the Lord! What a great blessing to see the building we have worked so hard on produce fruit on the first use! God is definitely good! But, it gets better. That same lady went home after being a part of Tulakogee and hearing about KMAK. She decided to send her children to KMAK this summer, and God worked in those children’s lives and they made the same decision that their mother did on her first visit to Tulakogee. They invited Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior while participating in KMAK! What an amazing journey God has brought that one family on! I can’t wait to hear more stories just like that. It’s awesome to see how God works in the life of one and in turn impacts so many more!
