The Director, Don Burns, has been busy getting a few new things added to make everyone’s stay during this summer a memorable one. We have had several different volunteer groups throughout the winter & spring helping make those changes.

One of those changes you will notice as soon as you arrive to camp. There is a new front gate! This addition not only looks great and is an eye catcher, it is also just one more step to ensure safety for those using our facility throughout the year. I hope you enjoy the picture!

 

We also have added on a new remodel and addition to Redbud Cabin. With volunteer and staff labor and love there is now a new bathroom/shower addition off the backside of the cabin. There are now new showers, toilets, sinks, and changing areas that weren’t there before. They were a much needed change. We know not everone that comes to camp will get to stay in that cabin, but we thought you would enjoy hearing about the remodel and seeing some pictures.

 

 

 

 Do you hear that? There’s a midnight express on it’s way! The Tulakogee Express is almost finished!

Yes, we will have a train this summer! This was a fun addition that I’m sure everyone will love. This is a creation by our Director, Don Burns, and was made almost entirely out of various scrap items along with actual pieces from a train yard. There have been many volunteers that helped make this possible, namely the group from Springer, Ok, and The Union Builders Association. A great team of youth from Calvary Inola also helped put on the first coat of black paint. They might have gotten more on eachother than the train, but it is starting to look finished. We still have a few things left to add, and then a final coat of paint and then ALL ABOARD!

 

Summer is almost here and we are excited to see new and old familiar faces! See you soon!

 The other weeks are filling up just as quickly. If you are interested in bringing a group for Kids Mission Adventure Kamp we are still accepting groups. If you haven’t registered and know you are coming, please send in the pre-registration information as soon as possible.

We got an unexpected snow fall on the official first day of Spring the day after we had a 70 degree work day. What a transition! While the snow was beautiful we are excited about warm weather finally.

As many of you know, we are in the last few stages of finishing the W.C.H. Conference Center. We already have 30 of the hotel rooms finished (click here for pictures and info) and are working on the large conference space. We are really excited to see the hard work and long days paying off. The ceiling beams in the conference room have been hung, stained, and now have a beautiful finish on them. While we are still a ways to go in the finishing process we are excited to see many different groups come in and volunteer their time, efforts, and talents in helping us to reach our goal.

Tulakogee would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to these gracious and generous volunteer groups.  Without these volunteers we wouldn’t be where we are today in reaching our goal.

Here is a visual reminder of the progress we are making…our strong and fearless leader might need some help holding this up!

When you have the lake at your front door, deer eating off your front yard, and the gorgeous sunrise to wake you, it makes the day go by with a touch of God’s glory right in front of your face. The view on Christmas morning reminds me of a verse from Psalm 19:1 “The heavens proclaim the glory of God.The skies display his craftsmanship.”

I hope you enjoy the pictures from Christmas day that a few of our friends and family were able to capture. We look forward to seeing you in the new year! God Bless you and may your days be filled with God’s glory!
