TULAKOGEE CONFERENCE CENTER, INC.
From the 1960’s until mid-2018 the primary plan and purpose for Tulakogee Conference Center was defined and simple. Not easy, simple. Provide a camp setting and outdoor environment for the Baptist Association churches in Tulsa and the four-state surrounding area to have a place to hold camp and other get-togethers in support of their ministry activities. And they did. Small groups and large groups, churches and individuals, even school associations such as Career Tech and FFA have in the past and still use the facilities to host their leadership conferences every spring and summer.
So, what changed in 2018 – and why change? How do you improve on the commitment of “Serving today to make a difference in eternity”?
You don’t, but as a ministry and as a Board we have proposed to be more intentional in how that motto is lived out. We are presently refining and defining a plan of development and business perspective projected over the next 3 to 5 years.
Today, Tulakogee is a non-denominational camp and conference center located on 190 acres on Ft. Gibson Lake north of Wagoner, Oklahoma.
The name Tulakogee was derived from two cities: Tulsa or “Tulsie Town” where Indian tribes once gathered to discuss life and make plans for safety and success. And, Muskogee: meaning a swamp or wetland. A place teeming with life.
Tulakogee means “A gathering place for life”. We want this campus to be that kind of place!
Our Vision statement: To use the platforms of camp, conference settings, and the outdoors to impact lives with God’s gospel of grace; and to provide a stage on which many can live out, mature, and share the truths of that gospel with those their lives touch.
